The StarArena 2005 is the same size and dimensions as the First-Edition from 2003, but it was the first to receive an important mechanical upgrade: Custom Made King-Pins! This elevates Game-Play, Sensation and Experience to the Luxury-Deluxe status as advertised and avoids arguments about board position for ever!
Production procedure was a tedious as in the First-Editions. The Adhesive-Graphics were hand-laminated color prints, cut out with a scalpel, and glued onto a routed MDF base before assembly. With the added drilling of positional potholes via a montage-template for the ‘clickers’ and adjustments for the ‘king-pin!’ Please view the “The Making Of” link below to better understand the technical-text if it is not clear to you.
StarArena 2005 & Display-Frame 2013.
The construction and dimensions of the Display-Frame are generally the same, but I have made variations to the box closing-mechanism. This version is chosen and streamlined to the ‘jigsaw-style-closer’ used in the 2015 and 2017 pre-production-prototypes and final display-boxes. You will find that the Game-Portals are mechanically identical, and only the Cosmetic or Aesthetic elements are optimized from this point onward.
